Minors

Sustainable

In this ever changing world, U of T Engineering recognizes the importance of providing future engineers with the tools they will need to make significant contributions in the world. Our in-demand cross-disciplinary minors allow you to expand your expertise and to further augment your degree.

In addition to their primary area of specialization, Engineering students have the opportunity to study one of three Engineering minors as well as a multitude of minors through the Faculty of Arts and Science.

Engineering Minors

The Cross-Disciplinary Programs Office at the Faculty of Applied Science and Engineering offers Engineering Minors that are open to most undergraduate Engineering students. Students may enrol in an Engineering Minor at any time in their program and complete this minor using their available electives. Current offerings include minors in Bioengineering, Environmental Engineering and Sustainable Energy. We are proud to introduce two new minors for fall 2011.  The new minors include Robotics and Mechatronics, and Engineering Business. Certificates are offered in Preventative Engineering and Social Development and Entreprenureship. We will also be introducing two new certificate programs for 2011. They are Engineering Business and Global Engineering.

Arts and Science Minors

We support and recognize that many Engineering students have a wide range of interests outside of Engineering and therefore encourage our students to explore these. Here at U of T you will have access to the widest selection of courses available in Canada. Whether you choose to compliment your Engineering degree with a minor in biology or chemistry, or choose to peruse other interests such as psychology, music, languages or economics. Completing an optional Arts and Science minor is a great way to expand your knowledge.
